Kore means “maiden.” She represents the woman at the beginning of her transformation:
full of potential, but not yet fully aware of her own strength.
Do you see yourself in her? She is inexperienced.
She has not yet developed the knowledge, discipline, physical confidence or self-trust required to become the woman she senses she could be.
She may feel disconnected from her body, uncertain of where to begin or frustrated by the distance between her intentions and her actions.
She may see herself as someone who has never really been active.
Maybe she played one or two sports growing up, but she has never truly strength trained, followed a structured program or learned how to eat in a way that makes her feel good, supports her goals and still feels fulfilling.
Especially if she is a woman who enjoys going out to eat and does not want fitness to require giving up the rest of her life.
She may be looking for her first real routine, returning after a long break or trying to rebuild after a move, an illness, a new milestone or another season that changed the structure of her life.
She may have trained for years without ever feeling like she developed a well-rounded understanding of what she was doing.
She may come from Pilates, yoga or another movement practice and want to expand what her body can do.
Or she may already exercise consistently but lack the vocabulary to explain the principles she has been using.
She may simply want to know that she is doing the important things she needs to do to remain healthy, strong and capable for the rest of her life.
She wants to feel more confident in her skin. Stronger.
More capable.
Internally, she may believe she lacks discipline, motivation or the ability to maintain a consistent schedule.
She may deeply want to change but still feel as though she does not know what to do, how to organize it or why she has such a difficult time following through.
Within the myth of Kore and Persephone, the maiden contains the queen within her.
The transformation does not create her power from nothing. It reveals what was already there.
In this guide, Kore represents the beginner standing at the threshold of her fitness journey.
She is curious, capable and ready for more, even if she does not yet feel prepared.
Her journey is not about becoming harder, colder or less feminine.
It is about adding strength, discernment, structure and self-possession to the qualities she already carries.
The maiden does not disappear when the queen emerges. Her softness, generosity and capacity for love remain. What changes is that these qualities are now supported by standards, discipline and the ability to govern her own life.
